How many times have you heard this statement?

Maybe you've said it yourself...

"Why can't the Badgers ever recruit the best QB prospects?!"

Well, Badgers fans, I have news for you...They finally got one.

Playing his high school football out of Mission, Kansas, four-star QB Graham Mertz made an official statement on his Twitter account Thursday night.

"This process has shown me that Wisconsin is the best fit for me as a student-athlete. It is time to bring together the best recruiting class Wisconsin has ever seen and bring a natty to Madison. With that being said, I am completely shutting down my recruitment."

Mertz made a formal visit to Madison on Wednesday where he tweeted a picture of him in a Badger uniform tossing a football in the air.

A member of the 2019 recruiting class, the pro-style quarterback is 6-3, 205 pounds and is considered one of the most polished prospects at his position. Check out his full draft profile and film.

Mertz has been sought out by many of the top football programs in the country including Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, etc.

This is a big deal...Who knows? Maybe Mertz's commitment will lead to other four/five star additions down the road.

On Wisconsin!
