Brewers Walk-In to Get Win Over Cards

April 09, 2018 - 10:57 pm

The All-Star closer took the loss in his first Cardinals outing, walking four over one-third inning in what ended up a 5-4 Brewers win over the Cardinals in 10 innings at Busch Stadium. It was an inauspicious beginning in St. Louis for Holland, who walked Orlando Arcia to bring in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning of a game the Cardinals had tied a half inning before. Holland walked Travis Shaw and Domingo Santana to begin the frame, then issued an intentional pass to Manny Pina after Eric Sogard's sacrifice bunt. The free pass to Arcia came on four pitches, sending Milwaukee to a win in the opener of a three-game set.
