Green Bay, WI - There was never any doubt Elgton Jenkins was going to make the cut.

No player received more praise from the Green Bay Packers coaches, at least from the offensive line, than their rookie guard/center out of Mississippi State.

At 6-foot-5, 311 lbs. Jenkins is one of the biggest players in the lockerroom. For weeks he was competing for the starting left guard position against veteran Lane Taylor, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.

On Thursday LaFleur announced Taylor would get the start in the season opener against the Bears.

Jenkins, drafted this spring in the 2nd round by Green Bay,  dressed for the final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and spoke with the media.
