Green Bay, WI - When the Packers season came to an end in 2018, with a 7-9-1 record, and head coach was Mike McCarthy fired after 12 years, Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine met with General Manager Brian Gutenkunst.

What did Pettine need to improve the defense in 2019?

Changes in coaches. Changes in personnel. 

Gone were outside linebackers coach Winston Moss, and Pass Defense Coordinator Joe Whitt. 

Gone were linebackers Clay Matthews and Nick Perry.

In came new coaches and three new free agent players.
