Did anyone expect Jonathan Taylor to be THIS explosive? It's been pretty amazing to see the true freshman flourish in the early goings of the Badgers' season. His vision, speed, and mobility has wowed many fans, but is it this legitimate, considering the opponents and subpar defenses that he's gone up against? Fox Sports/SI's College Football Reporter Bruce Feldman believes Taylor is in the conversation for this year's Heisman Trophy. Read more

I believe that talk is very pre-mature. Keep this in mind, guys. Only two freshman have ever won the Heisman - Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston. The most recent RBs to win are Derrick Henry (2015, Junior), Mark Ingram (2009, Sophomore), and Ron Dayne (Senior, 1999). Full list of Heisman winners

If Taylor continues this run for the rest of the season and into a legit bowl game, I think we can start that chatter heading into 2018. Could more 200+ yard performances this year make a difference? Maybe...It could garner a nomination, but let's not bet on it. Taylor has the workings to be a very special tailback, and I hope it continues to stand out for this Badgers offense. The sky is the limit....
