Another superstar Antetokounmpo on the way?

Giannis' brother turning heads

July 19, 2019 - 2:54 pm

Giannis Antetokounmpo put his team, his country...and his name on the NBA map when he won the 2019 Most Valuable Player award last month.

The Greek Freak has begun his takeover of the Assocation, leading the regular season's winnigest team to the Eastern Conference Finals via a flurry of ferocious dunks and blocks. Athleticism aside, his personality, tenacity and passion are, as he would tell you, motivated by a family-focused approach to basketball. He wants to win. He wants to make his family proud. He wants to set a positive example for his younger brothers.

One such brother, 17-year-old Alex, has grown up watching his brother rise to stardom and success doing all that. Sharing a name and family genes, if nothing else, coupled with readily-available mentor(s) in his MVP brother, Giannis, and fellow NBA-ers Thanasis and Kostas, Alex has the potential and opportunity to become the Greek Freak 2.0. For now, Alex is lighting-up the court for Whitefish Bay's Dominican High School. Mirin Fader went inside the Antetokounmpo's, and Alex's, story for her latest article -- "The Rise of the next Antetokounmpo" -- at Bleacher Report.
