August 07, 2018 - 4:30 pm

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers' pitching staff underwent some changes, Tuesday. David Stearns acquired RHP Ariel Hernández off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hernández has not pitched at the major-league level in 2018, but did make his major-league debut with the Cincinnati Reds in 2017. He posted a 2.52 earned run average in 50 innings of work with three different minor-league teams at both the AAA and AA levels. Hernández was optioned to AAA-Colorado Springs. The team also placed reliever Matt Albers on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, with a left hamstring injury. Jordan Lyles, acquired via trade waiver on Sunday, has been activated to take Albers' spot on the 25-man roster.
