Brewers slip out of wildcard, Cardinals slide in

ST. LOUIS - The Brewers' claim to an NL Wildcard spot is no more. With a 7-2 loss to the Cardinals, the Crew slipped out of contention for a Wildcard berth if the postseason were to start after the last pitch of Saturday's ball game. The Cardinals, meanwhile, claimed the available slot and second place in the NL Central. Travis Shaw and Christian Yelich homered, and Wade Miley took the loss, but the ejection of manager Craig Counsell in the first inning was perhaps the biggest moment of the game. Read more here
