ST LOUIS -- The rain couldn't have hit at a better time for the Brewers, as the downpour that started in the bottom of the 8th innings cemented a Brewers win over the Cardinals, 5-3. Adrian Houser got the win after going 5 1/3 innings, adding another solid start for a squad that needed a win to stay in playoff contention. Keston Hiura and Mike Moustakas provided all the offense for the Brewers on the night, with Hiura driving in two runs on a single and a double, and Moustakas adding the other three runs on a home run in the 1st, to go along with three walks on the night for him.

The Brewers will have the day off Thursday before welcoming the Diamondbacks to Miller Park on Friday at 7:10. Jordan Lyles will take on Merrill Kelly for the D-Backs in game one of the weekend series.
