CHICAGO -- Zach Davies and the Brewers got roughed up bad in the first game of this pivotal weekend series with the Cubs, falling 6-2. Davies lasted only four innings in the start, allowing four runs on seven hits, and Jeremy Jeffress picked up where Davies left off, allowing the other two Cubs runs on the day in his 1 1/3 innings pitched.

Ryan Braun tried his best to propel the Brewers offense, with a solo home run and a double, but the rest of the offense couldn't crack the Cubs pitching staff.

The Brewers have now lost four of their last five games, but will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon. Gio Gonzales will take on Cole Hamels, first pitch at 1:20 from Wrigley Field.
