MILWAUKEE - The Brewers had plenty of baserunners and chances but just couldn't come through when they needed to, falling to the Diamondbacks 5-2.

The Brewers were looking to sweep Arizona and head into the Cardinals series on a high note, but starter Zach Davies got roughed up early and often, going just four innings and surrendering four runs.

Ryan Braun had a nice day at the plate, going 2-3 with a sac fly, and Manny Pina hit his seventh home run of the season, but the Brewers as a team hit only 1-9 with runners in scoring position.

Next up for the Brewers, they'll welcome the NL Central leading Cardinals to town for a pivotal three game series. Gio Gonzales will take on Adam Wainwright for the Redbirds.
