Is Bak the best OL in the game?

Three Packers in PFF Top 50

June 13, 2019 - 2:50 pm

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has released its Top 50 NFL players headed into the 2019 season. According to PFF's formula, multi-year performance was used as the starting point before making adjustments based on injures (if applicable) and new situations surrounding that player and his team -- for example, if a quarterback lost a marquee receiver from seasons past or vice versa.

Three Packers players made the Top 50 list: nose tackle Kenny Clark, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and left tackle David Bakhtiari.

Clark (37) was ranked the fifth-best "defensive interior" player, Rodgers (17) was ranked the fourth-best quarterback and David Bakhtiari (13) was ranked the best offensive lineman.

The Packers' three, Top 50 selections were the most of any team in the NFC North; Bears edge Khalil Mack (8) was the division's highest-graded player.

The list is also riddled with Wisconsin Badgers alumni. Center Travis Frederick (29), edge J.J. Watt (33), quarterback Russell Wilson (39) and tackle Ryan Ramczyk (45) represented the Cardinal and White. The program's four selections tied California for the most in the Top 50, too.

Former Packers cornerback Casey Hayward (30) also cracked the Top 50, and Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald was graded as the No. 1 player overall. Check out the full list and analysis here.
