GTWN 86, MARQ 84

MILWAUKEE -- No. 16 Marquette took an 86-84 loss to Georgetown at Fiserv Forum in Saturday's regular-season finale -- the team's fourth consecutive loss.

A surprise to nobody, Markus Howard scored a game-high 28 points. Joey Hauser, Sacar Anim and Brendan Bailey scored in double figures for the Golden Eagles, too. It was no match for Georgetown's guard tandem of James Akinjo and Mac McClung who rattled-off 25 and 23 points respectively.

The four-game skid is Marquette's longest losing streak since January 2018 when the Golden Eagles also lost four in a row. The loss also meant the Golden Eagles, who were in contention most of the season, missed a chance to earn a split of the Big East's regular-season conference title; that honor will now go to Villanova. Marquette finishes the regular season with a 23-8 overall record, 12-6 in conference play. Read more here.
