Brewers shuffle pitching

Wilson & three others on the move

April 29, 2019 - 4:06 pm

The struggling Brewers pitching staff is getting some reinforcements. At least, that's why they're hoping for:

Donnie Hart has a 7.36 ERA in eight, minor-league outings this season. In three and two-thirds innings pitched, Hart has allowed just three earned runs (six total runs) on eight hits and two walks. During his short stint in the Majors earlier this season, Hart allowed two hits and four walks in two and one-thirds innings.

Jay Jackson, meanwhile, is headed to the big leagues for the first time since 2015; he spend the previous three seasons pitching internationally. While with Triple-A San Antonio this season, Jackson has been stellar. Through seven relief outings, and eight and two-thirds innings pitched, Jackson is yet to allow a run -- earned or otherwise. He's struckout 14, walked two and allowed four hits while holding opponents to a .133 batting average.

Alex Wilson has seen his ERA balloon to 9.53 following back-to-back outings with a home run allowed. Out of options, Wilson will need to clear waivers if he is to remain with the organization.

Aaron Wilkerson, though placed on the injured list for now, might find his way back down to San Antonio, too. He has allowed two and three earned runs in his last two outings recpectively, both of which lasted one and two-thirds innings.
