MILWAUKEE-- It's about time. Milwaukee Brewers CF Lorenzo Cain has won the first Gold Glove Award of his career as the MLB announced the recipients of the defensive award on Sunday evening.

Cain deservedly won for the first time in his career on Sunday night being named the Gold Glove winner for the centerfield position in the NL. The two-time All-Star posted a 2.2 defensive WAR in 2019 and recorded 306 putouts with only 2 errors on the season.

The Brewers' centerfield had many memorable plays on the field in 2019:

Other recipients in the NL include 1B Anthony Rizzo (CHC), 2B Kolten Wong (STL), SS Nick Ahmed (ARI), 3B Nolan Arenado (COL), LF David Peralta (ARI), RF Cody Bellinger (LAD), C J.T. Realmuto, and P Zack Grienke (ARI/HOU).

Cain is still under contract in Milwaukee for the next three seasons.
