Brewers' Wahl out with torn ACL

Seeking second opinion

March 04, 2019 - 1:19 pm

PHOENIX -- Brewers reliever Bobby Wahl will likely miss the entire 2019 season, diagnosed with a right ACL tear. Given the exceedingly rare nature of the injury for pitchers, he will exercise his right to a second opinion before proceeding with surgery or rehab.

Wahl, acquired this offseason from the Mets in the Keon Broxton trade, was expected to be a hard-throwing, right-handed option in the Crew's bullpen this season. He made two Spring Training appearances throwing a combined 1.2 innings on the mound. The 27-year-old made seven appearances with the Mets in 2018 and seven appearances with the Athletics in 2017.
