Nelson cleared to pitch...finally!

March 08, 2019 - 4:48 pm

PHOENIX -- Jimmy Nelson will do something he hasn't done since 2017 come Monday: pitch in a live game. He'll will make his 2019 Cactus League debut, and (hopefully) triumphant return from shoulder surgery, when the Brewers face the White Sox at American Family Fields of Phoenix.

Nelson was cleared to pitch on Friday (March 8) -- 18 months to the date since he last pitched in a Major-League game according to Brewers.com's Adam McCalvy. He is slated to throw one inning in relief of starter Jhoulys Chacín in Monday's game. McCalvy has more here.
