Brewers sign top draft pick

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers have signed 2019 first-round draft pick Ethan Small, amateur scouting director Tod Johnson announced Tuesday. 

Selected 28th overall on June 3, the left-handed pitcher reportedly signed for less than his projected pick value, too:

In his 2019 campaign with Mississippi State, Small went 10-2 in 18 starts with a 1.94 ERA. The 22-year-old was the oldest player selected by the Brewers through the first 20 rounds in this year's draft; as a result, in part, Small will start his minor-league journey at a relatively high level:
