CINCINNATI -- The Brewers beat the Reds 1-0 on Wednesday, sweeping the three-game series behind the arm of Freddy Peralta.

Peralta threw a career-high eight full innings en route to his first win of the 2019 season. He struck out 11 batters, allowed just two hits and no walks on 100 pitches -- 72 of them for strikes.

Alex Wilson came on in relief to close things out, but got himself into some trouble. Following a leadoff walk to Tucker Barnhardt, Wilson wound up with runners at the corners and two outs following a Matt Kemp single. Luckily, he worked Eugenio Suárez into a groundout to end the game, in the process, clinching his first save of the campaign.

Manny Piña singled in Jesús Aguilar in the second inning for the lone run of the game. Brewers.com writer Adam McCalvy has more here.
