Hiura named N.L. Player of the Week

July 22, 2019 - 3:14 pm

MILWAUKEE -- The hits keep coming for Brewers rookie second baseman Keston Hiura, on the field and in the headlines:

The extraordinarily hot week was one of several for the sweet-swining righty this season. His recent offensive surge has propelled his batting average to .331 and slugging percentage to .613 (first among N.L. rookies with at least 100 at bats).

Hiura is the first Brewer not named Christian Yelich (who has garnered five such honors -- two in 2019, three in 2018) to be named N.L. Player of the Week since Aramis Ramirez in 2015.
