Green Bay, WI - The Packers made several more additions and releases to their 53-man roster and practice squad on Labor Day, Monday.

The team signed Cowboys running back Darius Jackson from the Dallas practice squad.

They also signed former Chargers linebacker and special teams player Korey Toomer. Before the Chargers, Toomer also spent time with the Raiders, Rams, Cowboys. When I asked him if he thinks he will be used in Green Bay primarily as a special teams guy he said "I hope so. But I don't plan to stop there. I plan to start as a linebacker here soon someday."

To make room on the 53 man roster, the Packers placed former UW Whitewater receiver Jake Kumerow on the injured reserve list. Kumerow injured his SC joint in his right shoulder lunging into the end zone after an 82-yard catch-and-run touchdown pass vs. the Steelers during the preseason. He can return to practice in 6 weeks, and the team will have to decided to bring him back after 8 weeks.

The Packers also released Herb Waters, who they spent the past two years trying to convert from a receiver to a cornerback.

The Packers practice squad is now complete. Oak Creek native safety Marwin Evans, was placed on the practice squad after being released Saturday and clearing waivers. They also added cornerback Tony Brown off waivers, an undrafted rookie from Alabama, who was signed by the Chargers in May, but released over the weekend.   READ MORE
