If The NFC North Were A Horse Race

If the NFL were a horse race, I would be announcing that the horses, or teams, have made the first turn.

With 4 games complete, the Packers are technically in the lead in the NFC North but who’s truly the best team at this point?

Let’s look at the defensive numbers…
When it comes to yards per game total: the Bears are tops in the division and ranked 5th in the NFL while the Vikings are 6th, the Packers are 10 and the Lions are near the bottom of the league at 27th.

When it comes to points give up per game, the best D by far is the Bears who are 2nd overall in the NFL while the Vikings are 5th, the Packers are 7th and the Lions come in at 19th.

The offenses however tell a different story….
The Lions are 8th best in the NFL when it comes to yards per game.  The Packers are 21st, the Vikings are 25th and the Bears 29th.

Offensive points per game, the Lions are 10th best, the Packers 17th, the Vikings 18th and the Bears 28th.

Had enough?  Have you figured it out?  Neither have I….we’ll just leave at the Packers are 3-1
