There ya go, you didn’t overreact, and you should be proud of yourself.  Well, that or you know the ins and outs of baseball.

We knew Braun would get a hit but who knew his flair for the dramatic would return in San Diego?  A late inning bomb gave the Brewers the win in the 2nd game of the series.  Then it was Cain and Yelich beating up the baseball in game three, along with some key bullpen work, garnering the sweep over the Padres.

After an Easter Sunday off, now the Brewers return home to be welcomed by an energized, optimistic fan base who celebrates the day as if it’s the worlds largest family reunion complete with grills, meats, beverages and yard games.  Get out and enjoy it.  For the day is a festival of baseball and it’s fan. It’s the right of passage into spring with the return of the boys of summer.

But most of all, in Milwaukee, it’s a day where finally, the bright light of hope reigns supreme for this small market franchise.

While the season is truly a marathon, not a sprint, the next 10 games are against divisional rivals St. Louis and Chicago.  The adage is you can’t win the season in April, but you can lose it.  The Brewers have an opportunity to not only test their mettle vs. the better teams, on paper, but they can garner a few breathing games early on to put the pressure squarely on the “big boys” who are “supposed” to be there.

Finally….baseball is back!
