Chryst Needs Wide Eyes In Spring

The Wisconsin Badgers football program was a pre-season pick to be one of 4 teams to vie for the championship.  Now that the season has all but culminated, we can only say, boy were we wrong.
Yeah, when Quintez Cephus was suspended from the team for an alleged assault, that got the season off to a cloudy start.
Then injuries mounted and then the youth and inexperience reared its head on the defensive side of the football. But it was the head coach who you can praise for his loyalty….and criticize him for the same reason….that remained steadfast to a quarterback who has a lot of talent but makes way too many mistakes.
Many bought into the Orange Bowl performance from last season and forgot about the craptastic performances that were bailed out by a stellar defense only 1 year ago.
Some say Paul Chryst was very emotional after losing Paul Bunyan’s Axe to the Golden Gophers. He should be. He, and the seniors, went down in defeat with Chryst’s loyalty.
Let’s hope that wide eyes prevail come spring ball.
