Milwaukee Just Gained Valuable Experience

Remember 2014 when the Kansas City Royals went to the American League Championship Series?

KC’s rebuild was finally complete.  They got there with an unbridled enthusiasm and a collegiate-like youthful exuberance.

Sound like anyone we know?

The Royals were swept that year 4 games to none by the Baltimore Oriels.

The next year, after learning what it takes to roll with the big boys in the post-season, the Royals went on to beat the New York Mets 4 games to 1 to win the World Series.

Now I’m not saying that the Milwaukee Brewers are a lock to win a championship but what I’m saying is, sometimes you have to walk before you can run.

Let’s face it, in year 3 of the rebuild, no one expected to be going toe to toe with the defending NL Champs much less taking them to 7 games after garnering the best record in the National League.

This was a wonderful ride and I hope, as a Brewers fan, you enjoyed it.  And, oh by the way, this was a tremendous learning experience.  So, no reason to hang your head, be proud and look forward to the offseason, for I think it again will be interesting.

I can’t wait for next year.
