Don't Just Shout, Listen

Now we hear from NBA players who really don’t want to go the White House to visit with President Trump should they win the championship.  This all stems from the “unvite” that the President issued after he found out that members of the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t want to come visit him after they won the Super Bowl.

We want our athletes to stand up and say something when there’s some type of cause we believe in or need star power support but when they want their voices heard, we want them to shut up and play the game for our escape from every day real life issues.

Whether we agree or disagree with either side, what we have to understand is that not everyone agrees with our words and with our words come a response. All responses.  We have to accept that not everyone will agree.

What I do applaud is the discussion that comes from this type of controversy.

One thing we need to remember is that with both sides shouting their opinion, who does that leave to actually listen?
