How serious are they?  Is this a publicity stunt?  Are there political motives?

Who knows for sure, but the Milwaukee Bucks are making Becky Hammon the first woman ever to be interview for a head coaching vacancy in the NBA.

Hammon is a 4-year assistant under the Championship winning Spurs Coach, Greg Popovich.

Think about what this could mean to the franchise:  If she IS the person for the job, she will bring interest in a team with a rising super star and a new building.  And, if she’s successful….say winning 50 games and a couple of rounds in the post-season, the PR for the team will be through the roof.

But, if she’s not successful and the team does everything they can to put good talent around Giannis, then this move will be call a social experiment that failed miserably and set “the same ole bucks” back 3 to 5 years.

I don’t care what gender she is, can she get this group of guys to play together and be unselfish?

If she can….no one will care what her gender is….they’ll just call her coach.
