I Hope To Experience My Childhood Memories With Brewers Fans

The Brewers are one step closer to their goal of winning a World Series.  They will now face the LA Dodgers in the NLCS on Friday night.

For those that don’t know, I grew up in Cincinnati.  Being a kid in the mid 70s was amazing.  I had a chance to see one of the greatest teams ever put together….the Big Red Machine.  Bench behind the plate, The Big Dog Tony Perez anchoring first base. Little Joe Morgan at second, Davey Concepcion at short, Charlie Hustle Pete Rose at third, George Foster, Cesar Geronimo and Ken Griffey across the outfield.  Those were the mainstays of an incredible gathering of talent.

I remember the 75 World Series against the Red Sox and then sweeping the Yankees in 76.  My mom made me ring a cow bell on the front porch just after the final outs of both series culminated.

I can only hope and dream what it will be like if the Brewers capture their dreams here in 2019.

The only difference, in 75 and 76 there wasn’t anyone around with a cell phone to capture those amazing childhood moments.
