You're Not In Miami Anymore

When Giancarlo Stanton, last year’s NL MVP, was brought into the Yankee’s organization along side phenom Aaron Judge, they were being billed as the modern-day Marris and Mantel.

That billing was confirmed early on as Stanton went yard not once but twice in his pinstripes debut in Toronto.  Optimism reigned supreme.  On Monday, the Yankees home opener was postponed due to 5 inches of snow.

So, on Tuesday, the realization was that the snow not only cancelled Monday’s game, but it cooled off Stanton’s bat as he went 0-5 with 5 strike outs.

In a matter of a few days, Stanton went from being heralded as a possible Yankee great to literally being booed and called a bum as he walked back to the dugout.

Note to Stanton; you’re not in Miami anymore.  People in the Bronx actually care about baseball.  Not let the pressure mount.
